02About

Hi, I’m Adam

I studied Actuarial Science, Finance and Accounting at Monash University, finishing as DUX of three subjects: Quantitative Finance, Accounting Information Systems and Financial Accounting. I also completed all six actuarial exemptions through my degree.

Alongside tutoring, I work part-time as an Investment Banking Analyst in Sydney. My background also includes accounting, investment analysis and quantitative research, so finance and data lessons draw on real work as well as the textbook.

I also help families with South African civil documents, Lithuanian EU citizenship and US visitor visas, working alongside qualified notaries, translators and lawyers.

Piano lineage

From Chopin and Beethoven to your lesson

My classical training traces back through two great lines that meet in Mieczysław Horszowski: Chopin’s, through his pupil Karol Mikuli, and Beethoven’s, through Czerny and Leschetizky. I studied with Rita Reichman, who trained at the Curtis Institute with Horszowski and Rudolf Serkin, and have also trained with Konstantin Shamray, winner of the 2008 Sydney International Piano Competition.

Adam Stein’s piano teaching lineage Chopin taught Karol Mikuli, who taught Horszowski’s mother. Beethoven taught Carl Czerny, who taught Theodor Leschetizky. Both lines meet in Mieczysław Horszowski, who taught Rita Reichman, who taught Adam Stein. Adam also trained with Konstantin Shamray, a pupil of Vladimir Tropp, Tatiana Zelikman and Tibor Szász.
